“Own your Morning & you will master your life”. This is an amazing quote from “The 5 AM Club” Book by Robin Sharma (One of my favorite Authors). The advantages of waking Up Early have been brilliantly highlighted in this Book. Given below are the few valuable points in this Book which are worth sharing
Those Quiet Morning Hours
The whole idea of the 5 AM Club is to wake up at 5 AM & make the most of those quiet morning Hours or the victory hours which are usually very early in the morning between 5 AM to 7 AM. But if you are living in a City like Mumbai where people usually come late from work & a normal pattern is to sleep late at night, in such cases getting up at 5 AM looks a bit difficult. Here we can try for the 6 AM Club. The vibes are still the same & you can experience the early morning quietness.
Plan your Day
One of the major advantages of waking up early is that you can plan your entire day by utilizing the extra time you get before you begin your busy schedule. You can write down your daily tasks in a diary or a google sheet. As you complete the tasks throughout the day you can write “Done” after that particular task.
Fitness & Meditation
Once you get up early you get ample time to exercise. Usually, you just get up an hour before you leave for the office & spend the rest of the day working in front of your PC. This takes a serious toll on your health, especially your neck & back. So it is extremely important to exercise every day. Good health cannot be earned again once it is destroyed.
Also. you can use the calmness of early morning to Meditate. Just sit quietly for some time, close your eyes & experience the serenity of the peaceful wee hours of the morning… The experience is magical.
Start Working Early
If you are an entrepreneur, solopreneur, or freelancer the normal tendency is to start your work late in the morning & then stretch till late evening or at times till night. You feel a kind of stress when you are always behind in your work schedule.
If you wake up early you can immediately start working that too free of digital distractions. This will make sure that you are either ahead or following your work schedule. This will also help you to wind up your work early which is also called a Work Shutdown a concept explained in a book called “Deep Work”. Once you reach home early you can enjoy some quality time with your family, and friends, or at a Gym for working out.
.Develop a Sleep Schedule
In this age of Digital Distraction, most of your time at night gets wasted browsing through your Mobile Phones. Checking Facebook & InstaFeeds, chatting on WhatsApp, watching web series & so on. This is sadly the schedule of most people before they go to bed. As a result, you sleep very late at night. Most of us need to get up on time to start our work. This results in a lack of sleep which can have severe effects on your health.
If you wake up between 5:30 to 6 AM every day you will start feeling sleepy early at night. As a result, you will develop a sleeping pattern & you will hit the bed early & stay away from Social Media distractions.
Own your Morning
These are some of the major advantages of waking up early. Other advantages include performing your religious rituals peacefully during quiet morning hours or utilizing the silence of the early morning to read books.
So start being a member of a 5 AM or a 6 AM Club & experience the magic of those quiet morning hours. It may be difficult waking up early initially but as you start doing it consistently you will enjoy the process & start reaping the benefits.
As the famous saying goes “Early to Sleep & Early to Rise” makes a person healthy, wealthy & wise” So come let’s be a member of a 5 AM or 6 AM Club and make the most of those magical early morning hours.
