Hi Friends, I hope all of you are doing well and taking care of your health at this time of the extended pandemic. Almost, 10 Weeks into Digital Marketing Internship Program by Digital Deepak & I think a perfect time to unleash my Freelance Digital Marketing journey to date. Well, it’s not my analysis on the Digital Deepak Internship Program yet, planning to write the same once the Internship is over. This article is about my journey as a Freelance Digital Marketing Consultant before Digital Deepak Internship Course & my plan in the future once I am done with this course. In short, this article is about the mistakes I have made earlier before the Digital Deepak Internship Program due to lack of proper guidance & how I am planning to improve myself after this Internship Program.
I began my journey in the ocean of Freelance Digital Marketing way back in 2015 in the Content Writing domain. Prior to that, I had my feet wet with Content Writing through content which I wrote for my Web Designer Friend. Even though my friend gave me good bucks for my words but it was in no way a professional assignment. However, in 2015 I got my first content writing Assignment as a Ghost Writer (Which means writing for someone else, i.e. you will write the article but it will be published on the Website by using the name of another writer). That Assignment was about writing Health & Lifestyle Blogs ranging from about 1500 to 2000 words. I seriously don’t remember how much I was getting per word maybe 25 Paise Per Word or something but not sure. I worked on that project for almost a year before it was completed.
Once that was done, I got a lot of advice from my close friends to start Blogging. I used to write small Blogposts from 2010 but never ever took the writing seriously. That’s the reason even after a decade my Blog is still not structured & my writing is still at a beginner level (That’s what I think). You can check my 2010 Articles which are on my Website which was created by my Web Developer Friend in 2017 as my Birthday Gift. He always insisted me to do regular blogging to improve my content writing skills but don’t know why I never took his words seriously. As a result, I even never gave a thought to restructuring my Website & making it look professional.
So, after my first Content Writing Assignment, I through a reference of my Web developer friend whose Website is http://iease.in/ got an opportunity to work as a Social Media Manager for a reputed Journalist in Marathi media in the year 2016. There my task was to handle his Facebook & Twitter handles and to do translating work for his Website. I was an avid Facebook user since it was launched so I really enjoyed the challenge. Initially getting ‘Likes’ for Facebook Posts was a bit difficult but with regular & high-quality posting and with some Boosting the Facebook Page began functioning. Also, since he was a renowned Journalist in Marathi Media he had a Brand Name which helped me while doing Social Media Posting, especially for Twitter.
When I was handling his Social Media handles my Web developer Friend suggested me to look out for a few Digital Marketing Courses & to enroll myself in any good course to enhance my Digital Marketing Skills. But, yet again I never took him seriously. I was performing decently as a Social Media Manager for my Journalist client & during that period I got another client who was into the Tours & Travel Domain. My job was to handle Facebook, Twitter & Instagram accounts of my Tourism domain client. So now I was handling Social Media of 2 good clients & was also earning a good decent amount of money. I was working from my Web Developer’s Friend office so there was no question of paying any office rent. Things were looking good for me but still I never even gave a thought to getting in-depth knowledge in the Digital Marketing field.
It was I think in 2018 when my Web developer friend told me about Digital Deepak. I went through the Digital Deepak Website & immediately subscribed to it. This was my first introduction with Digital Deepak & Deepak Sir. After, that a series of high-quality emails began to land in my Inbox & once in a blue moon I used to read some of them. I think it was in 2018 when again my Web developer Friend told me to update my Website. I still did not take it seriously as I was happy handling my 2 clients & getting a decent amount of payment from them.
But during 2017 end (I am not sure) the exact date, I had to stop handling the Social Media handles of my Journalist Client Also, a few months post that my Tourism Industry Client told me to end the Social Media contract. The reasons I will not disclose here due to confidentiality issues. However, even after that, I got another 3 Clients for whom I used to handle their Facebook & Instagram handles. A couple of my clients are from Real Estate Domain & another one is in the gifting category. Even, there my performance as Social Media Manager is quite decent. I have stopped giving services to one of my clients just a few months back coz Lockdown Crises in his company but still I am handling my other 2 Social Media Clients. However, after enrolling in the Digital Deepak Marketing Internship program my perspective towards those clients has changed completely.
In fact, my entire approach towards Digital Marketing has changed since I have enrolled in this Internship program. Even today most of my clients are not serious about their Websites & simply want to get business through Facebook Ads. I am trying to pursue them to focus more on their Websites. And the good part is that few are planning to do the same. Apart from Digital Marketing, I along with my Friend have started an Online Commerce Website from this Dasara. So my purpose for joining this Internship program was to get in-depth knowledge about Digital Marketing & to use the knowledge which I am gaining through this program for my own Website and for my clients for whom I provide Freelance Digital Marketing Services.
So, what’s next after this Internship Program for me. Well, I will be upgrading my Digital Marketing skills through the methods mentioned in this program. I will also take my writing seriously as Content Writing is one of my main niche in Freelance Digital Marketing. Also, I have my Online Ecommerce Website so I will be needing a Digital Marketing consultation for the same. We have a professional Web developer who handles our Company’s Ecommerce Website but for other things like SEO, Google Ads I may need the help of few experts. From a Freelance Digital Marketing point of view, I will be now hunting for clients who will agree to go for the Integrated Digital Marketing module. The reason being, I can continue my long term association with them.
