After looking at the banners and watching the commercials on Television we are forced to realize that another tournament is coming in couple of days. Well it?s more of a revolution than a tournament. It?s a place where players are bought and sold; beautiful females make their presence felt and some famous businessmen and film stars start cheering for their team.
Yes it?s time for Indian Premier League, one of the most awaited sporting spectacle in the world of sports.??The tournament is held every year in India (except for some unforeseen events) and players from all over the world are divided in teams which are named after the Indian states. To get some loyal support every franchise uses the state or city name and ironically there are just two to three players of that state in the entire squad.

World Cup Final was played at Wankhede and the stadium witnessed history on 2nd?of April when ?Team India? won the World Cup there. The final was against the Lankans, and it was ?Lasith Malinga? who took the wicket of ?Sachin Tendulkar? which brought stadium to a pin drop silence.??Ironically Malinga plays for ?Mumbai Indians? in IPL and has a huge fan following at Wankhede. But on 2nd?April he was the main culprit who is still cursed all over India for taking Sachin?s wicket.
With ?Mumbai Indians? playing their home match against the ? Pune Warriors ? at Wankhede on 20th?April, it will be interesting to see what happens if Malinga cleans up the world cup hero Yuvraj Singh. Will there be a pin drop at Wankhede or will the chant ?MALINGA?MALINGA? of 30000 odd spectators echo across the Wankhede.
