If you are residing in Mumbai, Thane, Pune Lockdown seems like an eternity. It?s been more than two months now & we don?t know the fate post 31st May. Anyways, let’s hope that something positive happens sooner. Coming back to the Topic, during the last two months most of us have built their own schedules after wandering in the unknown zone of staying at home initially. In my last Lockdown Blog I mentioned about the activities in which we can engage ourselves to keep us busy & motivated. However, this Blog is a bit different. Here I am stressing on some good Lockdown Habits which we can take forward once the Lockdown Ends.
Given below is the list of some Lockdown Habits which we can Take Forward once we get into the rat race yet again.
Healthy Eating is Home Cooked Food : There may be many readers who for the first time in their lives may have eaten consistent home-cooked food for the last two months. I know that Swiggy and some other Apps have started online Food Delivery especially in Orange & Green Zones but don?t see people eating outside food the way they used to eat it earlier.
One good thing that we have seen during this Lockdown courtesy Social Media is lot of Food items which we have outside are now being made at home regularly. Chat Items. Some Paneer Special Sabji, Chicken Biryani to name a few. Once Lockdown is eased & restaurants are opened and Bhel Puri, Pani Puri Wala Bhaiyyas make a comeback many of us will once again start feasting on these food items. Having it once in a fortnight is fine but there are a lot of people who have this outside food almost daily.
Guys, why don?t we keep this Lockdown Habit intact once Lockdown is released? Eat outside only if it is necessary or its a special occasion to celebrate with family, friends. At all other times continue eating or carrying Homemade food in your Tiffins. During the last two months, I am sure many of us are facing a minimum of digestive disorders due to eating healthy home-cooked food.
Hygiene ? One great thing that has happened due to Corona is that we have started taking maximum care of ourselves. We wash hands regularly, Cover our face while coughing and sneezing, try to keep a distance from people and always try to stay fit and healthy. Washing Hands is such a simple and effective habit that many were not following before Lockdown. Even I was the same, remember My ?Aai? telling me to wash hands first once you come from outside and then eat. This is such a good habit that Corona has taught us. Please do Wash your Hands regularly once Corona says ?Tata? to Us…Coz apart from Corona there are many viral diseases we can infect. So washing hands & maintaining personal hygiene is an excellent habit which we have developed during Corona & which we can take forward.
Stay Connected with your Passion: During this Lockdown, many of us have started rediscovering our Passion which we were not able to pursue coz our busy schedule. For me Reading & Blogging are my lost passion which I have rediscovered during this Lockdown. For others it might be Painting, Dancing, Cooking to name a few. Try to make a point to pursue these awesome things once you resume your office post Lockdown. I know there may be a ?Time Issue? here but still you can easily find at least a few minutes of your day to indulge in things you like. And mind you, these things are major stress relievers during your busy & hectic lifestyle.
Family: During this Lockdown, One good thing happened is that we got some moments to spend with our family. A normal Mumbaikar Schedule is to leave for office at around 8 to 9 AM come back at 7 to 8 PM, once back home watch TV, get engrossed in Mobile, or spend time below your Apartment with Friends. What about our parents ?? Do we really get time to interact with them? Well, this Lockdown has given us a lot of time which we can spend with our family members. What about ?Not Breaking the Chain? !! Keep Interacting & spending time with your family members once your schedule resumes. Not many are lucky to have a Family as we have. So stay connected with them even when you are busy.
Television Timepass ? One good thing for me during Lockdown is that most of the Daily Soaps on TV have been halted. I am not against these people earning money but the content which they display in these serials is simply pathetic. And watching it regularly is a sheer waste of time. Watch some Live Sports or a good Movie instead of wasting time watching these Daily Soaps. Well during Lockdown, we have got a good break from these Daily Soaps. I don?t mind our retired Parents watching this Daily Soaps to spend time but youngsters like us can surely do better things than wasting around 14 to 16 hours a week on this Crap. So Once Lockdown Ends keep your Daily Soaps to a minimum. Half an hour wasted on it is fine. You can use the remaining time to read books, to work out, learn new things, or simply playing games like Carrom, Chess with your family members.
Just hope the Pandemic subsides quickly & we get back to our routine at the earliest & do carry forward some good Lockdown Habits with us !!
