One of the most admired players of Team India, Yuvraj Singh bid adieu to International Cricket yesterday. A Player who gave so many memorable moments to cherish for Indian Fans, right from his score of 84 against Australia in his debut series in 2000 to Sixes he hit of Chahal in recently concluded IPL, Yuvraj Singh has entertained one & all. When you recall Team India’s memorable moments since the 20th century, Yuvraj Singh has featured in most of them.? May it be Natwest Series Final of 2002, 6 Sixes of Broad in 2007 T20 WC or his all-around performance in World Cup 2011, Yuvraj Singh has given Indian Fans such joyous moments which will be etched in our minds forever.
However, the Journey of the southpaw has not been that easy. Yuvi who is one of the best left-handers India has ever produced never made it big in Test Cricket. Yuvraj made his Debut in Test Cricket in 2003 but never cemented his spot in the Test Team.? The highlight of his Test Career was his century against Pakistan in 2004 at Lahore. ?Due to his ODI brilliance, Yuvraj was given a lot of chances in Test cricket but some way or other he never succeeded in the longest format of the game. ?Yuvraj Singh made his last appearance in whites in 2012.
However, T20 format was something perfect for Yuvraj and he succeeded in that. His 12 Ball 50 against England in 2007 World Cup has to be his marque innings in the shortest format of the Game. Yuvraj’s Left Arm Spin also was an asset for Team India in White Ball Cricket. Talking about ODIs Yuvraj? Singh was a true middle-order genius for Team India and has to be one of the Best White Ball Cricketers India has ever produced.? His all-round performance in the 2011 World Cup which India won justifies why Yuvi is one of the best in ODIs.
2011 will be a year which Yuvi and Indian Cricket Fans will never forget.? After being the Hero of India?s World Cup Triumph in 2011, Yuvraj was diagnosed with a Cancerous tumor in his left lung. However, the fighter Yuvraj Singh is, he successfully fought against the dangerous disease and took the Cricket Field once again in a T20 game against New Zealand in September 2012. He tried his best but somehow was never the Same Yuvi post the dreadful disease.? He played his Last ODI for India in 2017 and since then has been ignored by the selectors. After being left out of 2019 World Cup, Yuvraj decided to call it a day. He was one Indian player who deserved a farewell match.
Yuvraj Singh is a source of inspiration not only for Cricketers but also for others who are struggling and wanting to give up in life. Recovering from Cancer is not easy. Yuvi not only recovered from life-threatening disease but also took the field again for his Country. Yuvraj gave his blood and sweat for the game and will always be remembered as a true fighter. Player of the tournament in the 2007 World?T20?and 50-over 2011?World Cup which India won, Yuvraj Singh is a story of courage, agony & finally Triumph.
Superb..Miss you yuvi your a true fighter.
